Valuing our connections of the past and present, and looking forward to the future, SVT organizes All-Seldovia reunions for the community. Each Coming Home celebration is a chance for all of us to reconnect with old friends and family, plus make new friends, while participating in the many fun activities that are organized for the event.
As we get closer, and plans start getting made we will be updating this page, so be sure to check back in. In the meantime, check out the information below from the first two gatherings.
A great time was had by all at our Coming Home All-Seldovia Reunion Event in 2017. Folks traveled from near and far to reunite with friends and loved ones, and to enjoy a good old-fashioned Seldovia celebration.
There were five days of fun and activities, from kids’ games, sporting events, and boat rides, to talking circles, a community picnic at Outside Beach and an Alaska Native Dolls display. The whole event culminated on the 4th July with an entire day of Independence Day Activities offered, starting with a Pancake Breakfast and including a Salmon Shuffle and a Parade among many other things.
Coming Home 2007 was held in the week July 1st to 8th. Seldovia Village Tribe and Southcentral Foundation hosted a week-long celebration of events bringing Old & New Seldovians together like the good old days.
To start off the week an old-fashioned beach picnic was offered where kids and adults alike played participated in races, a tug of war, dug for prizes in sawdust piles, and much more. Daily coffee table meetings were held in the Seldovia Conference Center and other highlights from the week included a Fish Derby, a Seldovia Style Biathlon, and an all-school reunion.
