Seldovia Village Tribe has many programs designed to support and assist our community. SVT is dedicated to maintaining health & wellness even in these times of uncertainty.

Seldovia Village Tribe hosted free COVID19 testing for the community of Seldovia on Wednesday, April 29th.

Our SVT Health & Wellness team working with Seldovia-based Tribal staff to assist 168 participants at walk in and drive in testing sites. Swab samples were taken and are being sent to Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage for results. This snapshot in time was prioritized by the Tribe as an opportunity to see if the community has remained protected from COVID19. Results will be communicated directly to the individual participants.

As a Tribal Government, Seldovia Village Tribe remains open in order to provide essential services to our community members.  We recognize the challenges and concerns of the day as we all navigate the risks of Coronavirus (COVID-19) together.

SVT has implemented the following:

No off-site programming

(i.e. Gym/Swim, Winter Hikes, Youth Gatherings, etc.)

No Bingo, Bunco, in-house Senior Meals nor Healthy Chatter*

(*Be watching for online streaming of presentations and story times.)

Temporary Closure of our public Fitness Center hours.

Screening Required for access to SVT Health & Wellness

(per Governor’s Mandate)

Our administrative and community services offices remain open. We are practicing social distancing in our buildings, and we are also available via phone or video conferencing to meet as needed. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment if you need to meet with a staff member in person.

Yes, Debbie Cameron is still available as our Fee Agent to help with paperwork needs.

Yes, Ch’anik’na still remains open (per Governor’s Mandate) for children of parents in the community who are deemed essential during this pandemic.
